What Vacuum should we buy?

with 7 comments

We are wanting to buy a new vacuum that is under 0 (closer to 0) We are looking for an upright with HEPA filter… Which should we look at at which ones should we stay away from…
Were thinking about the Bissell Velocity Dual Cyclonic, Bissell 5770Healthy Home, & the Eureka Boss Smart Vac 4870GZ… What vacuum do you use, would you reccomend, what are the pros, & cons? Thanks…

Dyson is way too expensive…

I’ve tried consumer reports but you have to subscribe to be able to read the ratings and reviews… I’ve looked online at different reviews, but was really hoping to get a review from someone with personal experience…

  1. I’VE FOUND THE BISSELL UPRIGHT IS AWESOME. IT ISN’T THE HEPA BUT HAS A 3 STAGE FILTRATION. IT SAYS NO DUST AND THEY MEAN IT. ITS POWERFUL( i have 2 cats and a dog) ITS AWESOME ON PETHAIR AND DANDER. ITS THE BISSELL POWERFORCE BAGLESS. WAS PURCHASED AT WALMART, BELIEVE AROUND $168.00 A YEAR AND A HALF AGO. THEY DO STILL CARRY THEM, HERE ANYWAY. IT HAS A WIDE CLEANING PATH AND POWERFULL 12 AMPS. IT MAY BE HEPA TOO, REALLY NOT SURE NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT. ALSO HAS DUAL EDGE CLEANING. LETS JUST SAY, I LOVE IT … BEST I’VE FOUND, SHARON

  3. DO check Consumer Reports… Most public libraries keep them on microfilm, so if you have a half-hour to do a little research, it is well worth it.

Oh, and we have a Bissel CleanView we got at Target 5 yrs ago for $68. They still carry them (my m-i-l bought one 2 yrs ago). It has two removable filters, one of foam rubber and one kind of like a Scotch-Brite scrubbing pad. I just take them out and wash them with soap and water once in a while… I would NEVER spend more than $80 on a vacuum, unless I were a housekeeper.

  4. check with the local vacuum repair shop- they will easily be able to tell you what problems they are always having to fix–they also sell used.
I have a Sebo it does cost about $400-but is worth it because it is created not to break and has replaceable parts if it does. You might be surprised to hear that even at $200- the cleaners are considered disposable because they don’t even make repairable parts. I personally went thru MANY vacuum cleaners. I wish I had just invested in the best from the beginning-It would have been much cheaper than the money I invested in the MANY that ended up on the curb. Good Luck!
Some of the features I love about the Sebo:
It fits in tight places, has on board attachments that don’t need to be hooked up- thay are ready to use- changeable hepa filters and allergy bags, folds absolutley flat to go under bed and still works, long cord, no belts, it turns off if you run over your shirt :) it is foolproof-it won’t let you ruin it. I wish I sold these because it is the best investment I have made in 20 years.

  5. Pay for the Dyson! I have used and owed many sweepers. Personally I can’t say enough about how well a Dyson works.
I LOVE IT!!!!!! You won’t regret this purchase. I enjoy running the Dyson just to see the dirt. HA!

  6. No, none of those vacuums you mentioned make the grade except the dyson, but I can mention one brand I have had the best of luck with and for less than two hundred dollars, try Panasonic upright they are the best they have the best powerful suction and cleanability they last a long time and are very lightweight and agile, you would love this vacuum, I love it so much I plan on purchasing another one but this time the bagless model of Panasonic, I also found the best deal on this vacuum online at Amazon, great prices and have never had to send any purchase back have bought many products from them, their shipping is very fast. Good Luck !
