Will Dyson vacuum accessories fit a standard 1 1/4" vac hose?

with 2 comments

I would like to use a Dyson floor tool with my central vacuum system. The system uses a hose with a 1 1/4" diameter attachement port.

Does anyone know what the inside diameter of a Dyson floor attachment tool is? Or if it will ft a standard vacuum hose?

What voltage must be applied to the ends of central wire of coaxial 50 Ohm cable to produce 1A current?

Cable is made of copper, insulation is vacuum.
Diameter of outer shell is 1cm, length of the cable is 1km.

They often use thin-walled PVC pipes for things like central vacuum-cleaning and other stuff, which _________|?

    with 2 comments

they say, especially for central vacuum-cleaning, is "so that there’s more room for material to move through."

Okay, my questions about that are:

    1. Why is it supposedly "so important" to use those (more expensive?–but correct me if I’m wrong, please) thin-walled pipes instead of just using slightly over-all bigger, standard-thickness-walled pipes (not a lot bigger, just enough bigger that their insides are as wide as these thin-walled pipes would be), and…

    2. Why bother with that little bit bigger size of space inside, since the amount of space gained is just marginal anyway (what, about 1/8" in total diameter, about 1/16" of wall thickness, right?), and…

    3. am I correct that thin-walled pipes are more expensivve, and if so, why would they be, if, for a given diameter, they actually have LESS material than their thicker-walled counterparts?

Will you please come back a bit later to see if I have added any CLARIFICATIONS or other necessary follow-up (NOT CHAT) here if your answers need some follow-up in return?

Will you please come back after the question closes to see if I’ve sent any CHAT comments (OKAY in comments box after closing) for your answers?

    Thanks, if so.

(P.S.I’m not trying to ask 3 questions for the point-price of 1; I’m just asking these 3 in the same main unit because they’re so relatedly intertwined, so they just about have to be asked together.)
    Follow-up (NOT CHAT) for Smokey:

Okay, thanks. So is that the main reason they’d use pipe with a thinner wall to get more flow space than just using an over-all wider pipe–just if it costs less that way than to just buy bigger pipe? Or are there other reasons, and what, if so?
